Food Security Survey Launch
For immediate release: ECRL Food Security Community Engagement Kick-off
Earlier this year, ECRL received $59,900 from the province of Nova Scotia to support food security initiatives. We created seed libraries with vegetables and herbs at all library locations. Library visitors can take these seeds and use them to plant their gardens or save them for the next growing season. We are also busy increasing our collections related to food security, with new items arriving regularly.
ECRL has created a food security survey and we hope many people will take part and complete it. Community input is critical to creating positive change. Clair Rankin, ECRL Board Chair, said, “There is so much local expertise and knowledge in this area regarding growing food to support our families and our communities I encourage everyone to complete the survey to help the library make a real difference."
The survey launched Friday, August 23, and is available until Monday, September 30. To further support food security, anyone filling out the survey will be eligible for one of 10 $100 grocery gift cards (one for each ECRL location area). The Food Security @ ECRL survey is available on our website or directly: https://ecrl.surveysparrow.com/s/Food-Security-at-ECRL/tt-3RPlo
