STEM Program at Port Hawkesbury Public Library

Jan 16, 2023
Kids ages 5-12 years old are encouraged to join us at Port Hawkesbury Public Library on Saturday, January 28 from 10am-12pm for a fun STEM program!
READesign is a program based on the Tuft's University Novel Engineering Program, run by BrainSTEM Alliance in collaboration with The Stem Girl, where youth will work alongside BrainSTEM Alliance volunteers to read a storybook, identify the problems that characters face in the book, and ultimately design a solution to the problems identified. The book featured in this program will be Tess Makes a Mess by Jennifer Ladipo and Jasmine Wood.
BrainSTEM Alliance volunteers will share their STEM knowledge by introducing design thinking principles, and combine literacy with engineering design in this unique program offering.
This workshop is free and is offered through a grant provided by the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and in partnership with Eastern Counties Regional Library.
