All ECRL locations are closed today due to weather and travel conditions. 

ECRL Early Closure Notice

Alexander Doyle Public Library in Mabou, Port Hawkesbury Public Library, and ECRL Regional Office will close at 1 pm on Monday, February 23.

Chéticamp Public Library Operations Update

Chéticamp Public Library is temporarily closed while we recruit and train new staff.

Regular operations are expected to resume on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

We thank the public for their patience and support with recruitment. 

Heritage Day Closures

All ECRL locations will be closed Monday, February 16, to observe Nova Scotia Heritage Day. 

Cyril Ward Memorial Public Library in Guysborough and Sherbrooke Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, February 17 in lieu. 

Canso Public Library and St. Peter's Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, February 18 in lieu. 

The Chéticamp Public Library, the Coady & Tompkins Memorial Public Library (Margaree Forks), and the Alexander Doyle Public Library (Mabou) are closed today, Friday, February 13 due to local weather and travel conditions. 

All ECRL locations are closed today, Thursday, February 12, due weather conditions. 

Delayed Opening

Due to weather and road conditions, the following locations will have a delayed opening on Tuesday, February 10: 

• Alexander Doyle Public Library and Port Hawkesbury Public Library will delay opening until 11am 
• The ECRL Regional Office in Mulgrave will delay opening until 10am 

Alexander Doyle Public Library Closure Notice

Alexander Doyle Public Library in Mabou will be closed on Friday, February 6. 

All ECRL locations are closed today, February 2, due to weather and travel conditions. 

The Coady & Tompkins Memorial Public Library is closed January 31.
